he clients found the spectacular beach view they had been seeking for a number of years, but this beachfront condo needed work. The views to the gulf were interrupted by a wall between the dining room and great room, and the interior design was weighted down by heavy old world draperies and an oversized old world entertainment center.
The condo had been on the market for a long time with no takers because of the obstructed views, cheap looking finishes and choppy flow between rooms. The clients saw past those problems, and they worked with Southern Showcase and Kingon Homes to expand the view and upgrade finishes, including flooring, paint, plumbing, cabinetry, and lighting, as well as adding crown moldings and ceiling details.
Two seating areas were added in the great room, along with a free-standing bar between the greatroom and dining room, keeping the elements needed for entertaining while eliminating unnecessary walls and totally opening the views. Window treatments, furnishings and accessories were selected so that they were understated, comfortable and sophisticated, yet felt very tropical and perfect for the beach.
